Rail Transportation Program

We successfully completed another outstanding conference!  This year saw 115 participants between our live conference in Escanaba and our virtual option!  A big thankyou to our 21 conference sponsors!  Without you this event would not be possible.  And another thankyou to our conference planning committee, who helped pull together the content for the program.  And finally, a thankyou to all who participated in the conference.  You are the reason we try to pull this event together each year.  We will be reviewing our post conference survey, and looking towards 2023 after we take a short break to recuperate!

Organized since 2013, Michigan Rail Conference returned to the Upper Peninsula for its 10th Anniversary.

The theme for the event was "Pivot for Growth: Supply Chain and Mobility".

Our Keynote Speaker,  Jennifer Mitchell, the new FRA Deputy Administrator provided an outstanding presentation, anchoring the panel discussions in the morning plenary and the afternoon breakouts. 

Jennifer Mitchell was appointed as Deputy Administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration in April 2022. In that role, she provides executive leadership and direction on agency operations and policy matters, including the agency’s safety and rail development activities.

The event was held on the Bay College Campus in Escanaba, MI on August 1-3, 2022.

Events started with the annual golf outing and evening reception on August 1st and continued with the technical presentations on the 2nd, and field visits on the 3rd.

Our post-conference survey results indicate that the event was another rousing success!
