Michigan Tech REAC Students Attend Railway Interchange 2015 in Minneapolis

Michigan Tech Students & Alumni at the Alumni Event Held during the Conference

Recently this October, students from Michigan Tech’s Railroad Engineering & Activities Club (REAC) attended the Railway Interchange in Minneapolis, MN on October 4th-7th. After a long van ride on Saturday, the next three days were filled with student activities, indoor and outdoor company exhibits, and interesting technical presentations. The students also participated in a Quiz Bowl and project poster presentations, as well as met with industry representatives during the ‘Meet the Next Generation’ event.

This year, two of our students, Alex Lakenen and Aaron Dean, worked as student interns for the Conference Operating Committee and were able to attend the AREMA President’s Dinner on Monday night. Overall, they said, it had been an excellent learning experience.
